MADE 서울 SEOUL is a South Korean clothing brand, pronounced Made-Seoul, 서울 are the Korean letters for Seoul (this is an entirely made up brand).
As an online advertising technique is to inform potential customers of what products our clothing brand has to offer, our logo successfully delivers such a message. Our clothing brand specializes in men urban and street wear. Hence, the graphics have been designed to characterize our clothing line; consisting of a silhouette of a city and dots of city lights.
In terms of the overall design, rounds shapes are consistently used. In order to achieve this look, there are no harsh and sharp edges. Moreover, the main colour theme is blue, beige, black, and white. The number of colours used has been kept minimal in efforts to keep the overall design simple, yet not looking too dull or too colourful. Thus, the simplistic use of colours is still able to add a touch of fun into our line of clothing. The white outline around each piece of clothing draws the eyes of its viewers and allows the clothing to pop out from the ad. The silhouette of the city has been outlined in black to give it a defining shape, as all of the graphics used throughout have an outline as well. Additionally, I have chosen to not fully display the model’s head in any of the ads, since my goal is to place an emphasis on the clothing the model is wearing, rather than on his looks. This is not a common practice in clothing ads, hence, I believe this proposed design will be able to leave an impression on its viewers and will eventually lead to potential sales.
Different forms of this online ad have been integrated within various channels:
1. AllKpop (Korean pop music celebrity gossip and news)
It would definitely be beneficial to place our ads on this high traffic website, as it is one of the most popular international Korean pop music websites/forums. It is sure to attract the attention of its frequent users, especially because it will be displayed on the top of this website (leaderboard banner). Another reason to choose this website is due to the high interest these users must have of South Korean pop culture and fashion; enough for them to read about and comment on the daily gossip and news of South Korean pop music stars.
2. Facebook
Due to the various demographics of Facebook users, it would be ideal to target our ads towards related locations, ages, languages, and the interests people post onto Facebook. This way, our target is more specific and will target only potential customers, depending on the information people give out on Facebook. However, due to the limited space Facebook ads have, I found it rather difficult to decide on what features were the most important and effective to include on this little square ad.
3. YesStyle.com (Online retailer of lifestyle and fashion products from Asia)
Due to the limited space this ad consists of, this square ad is actually a GIF. This has been done in order to maximize the amount of visuals that can be presented. YesStyle is an online retailer of this clothing brand, thus the choice of this ad placement.
